FAQ

The Answers You Need

Where does the tour start and end?

Newquay's Ghost Walk and Boat Trip Tour starts in Newquay Harbour, Shark's Head Kiosk,  1 South Quay Hill, Newquay. Basicly come down the harbour bank and directly in front of you you will see the fishing trips and sea safaris kiosks, our tour starts by the sharks head on the sign. The tour also ends in the Harbour which is the oldest part of Newquay with many ghostly legends.

Is this tour scary?

This tour is not aimed to be scary in today's standards where people expect to see something drastic like a chare been thrown by an entity, this tour is a mythical step back in time, back in to local legends, ghost stories and hauntings. We feature everything from the Bucca Boo to the Knockers, Mermaids and ghosts, pirates and smugglers, wrecks along with viewing wildlife. This tour operates in daylight hours due to the nature of the tour been at sea and boarding and unboarding the boat. However the land parts can be scary with people capturing ghost photos and even people been pushed by unseen hands.

Has the boat got all the safety kit?

Yes the boat has the latest in sea safety kit aboard and we only take 12 people on each trip with a experienced skipper who has over 28 years of experience with one of Cornwall's best and award winning sea safari companies. Click here for more info!

Can children come on the tour?

The Newquay Ghosts, Legends and Wreckers tour is suitable for all ages but we tend to find any younger than 6 years and they can be disruptive at just the points the guides are about to deliver a scare so we recommend 6 years plus with stories for all ages and humour for all. However there are some scary stories and legends about ghosts and spirits but nothing worse than what you will see on today's TV. We will leave it to the parents discretion.

How long is the tour?

The Newquay Ghost, Legends and Wreckers tour is around 2 hours long with 1 hour or just over or under depending tides and boat speed, then we have boarding and unboarding with a land tour included. We aim for 2 hours but it can be slightley less or more depending on how quick people move, if we get any good ghost photos or wildlife sightings as people want to stop and look. We advise to leave between 2 and 2.5 hours for the tour.

Accessibility

This tour is not suitable for people in wheelchairs or who find steps hard to navigate as you will board via the quayside which are steps down to the water's edge and boat, also prams and pushchairs can be a hard to get up and down the staircases. This tour is dependent on tides and we have 3 points to board and depart with staircases and some bank areas or steep banks to walk up or down, there may be rocks on the beach that can be slippery. Please make sure you have suitable footwear and clothing.

Parking can be busy in the harbour, we recommend arriving 30 minutes before the tour to the harbour booking office by our sign.

We are a dog friendly tour as long as your dog is friendly and ok on boats.
